Vicki established this speech-language pathology private practice in 1994 following varied clinical experiences in hospitals, nursing homes, and educational settings. Her mandate was to provide quality speech-language pathology services in a professional setting to children and adults with a team of experienced speech-language pathologists.   Obtaining her license to practice in the state of Indiana, Vicki provided speech language therapy for two years in nursing homes in Indianapolis and Danville, Indiana.  She was a member of the Cleft Palate Team at the IWK Health Centre for 10 years and during that time provided supervision to speech-language pathology interns. She has maintained a certified membership in ASHA (American Speech and Hearing Association) and also CASLPA (Canadian Association of Speech Language Pathologist) and SHANS (Speech and Hearing Association of Nova Scotia).     Areas of specialized training and expertise include childhood and adult stuttering, preschool speech and language delays, language and literacy problems in school age children, oro-facial speech problems, autism, Parkinson’s Disease and stroke. She has volunteered for the Heart and Stroke Foundation of NS for 15 years. The clinic spearheads annual fundraising/donations to the Provincial Autism Centre.

Julie provides speech and language therapy services for children, youth, and adults in Halifax and its surrounding communities.  Her professional areas of interest and experience include autism, apraxia, Downs Syndrome, speech and language delays, global developmental/cognitive delays, stuttering, speech and language problems following stroke or brain injury, literacy, voice, and caregiver/communication partner training. 

Julie has had specialized training with InteRACT – a unique and intensive residential aphasia treatment program in Halifax and has also served as a member of an interdisciplinary team in a program for children with multiple needs.  Julie is a certified member of CASLPA (Canadian Association of Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologists) and SHANS (Speech and Hearing Association of Nova Scotia).  She also serves as a volunteer Board member for the Learning Disabilities Association of Nova Scotia.

Judy worked as a Dental Assistant in dental practices in Halifax.  She has over 30 years experience as a receptionist and has fulfilled this role at our clinic with great skill and enthusiasm.  Her interests include yoga, oil painting, travelling and spending time with her grandchildren.
